A nice antique 4/4 violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi, nella Contrada di Santa Margarita, al Segno della Sirena, Milano 1769. This is a superb sounding instrument, also very beautiful in appearance. The scroll is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden brown reddish color over lighter ground remains in good condition. The softly flamed two pieces maple back measures 359 mm. The total length of the violin is 585 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 106 mm; lower bouts: 202 mm.
